Well, it is obvious that the Greek Epic Metallers have now entered to a new era and if you allow me a comment I would point this era as the era of inspiration. Yes this is their third release where they present a solid, inspired and powerful musical result marked by the forces of Epic Metal.

During an age that the term Epic Metal if mostly used by bands more capable to wear leather and spikes on stage offering nothing by a boring noise just because they are “true” or “cult”, Battleroar strike back to offer some real good music for those who are still searching for some high quality Steel.

There are plenty of songs included in this album that would become classics in the band’s musical history. Death before Disgrace could be marked as one of their best compositions so far. Listen to its brilliant lead guitar themes, pay attention to the magnificent vocal approaching by Marco Concoreggi –that has managed to build a great voice-, turn the volume louder and let the hammering rhythm parts to fill the air and you would understand my point.

Close your eyes and enjoy the acoustic parts of oceans of pain and get prepared for battler under the sound of Dragonhelm and taking us a fact that you are always thirst for more Steel it seems that Battleroar have written the track that would be your head banging hymn on the forthcoming drunk nights: Born In The 70s.

In general the band now exploring even more Epic soundscapes composing mid tempo and pounding songs based on apocalyptic melodies, enforced by melodic lead guitar themes under a conquering rhythm section. The vocals of Marco are simply brilliant as I have already pointed and for those who are aware of the past of this great singer under his personal project Hyrkanian Blades there is a surprise awaiting which is no other than the same titled Hyrkanian Blades song under the Batlleroar moniker.

I also think that the most powerful feature in this album is the great acoustic parts enforced by violin, a feature that also works very good on stage and those who were on this April’s Up The Hammers Festival -where the band presented their new stuff to their fans-, understand what I am talking about as the violin parts were played live by an excellent musician.

Well it is obvious that If a band wants to bring quality into its music being able to do it the correct way the result is always magnificent and Battleroar simply made it ignoring the “true metal” fools that may bad-comment the violin parts on the songs or the My Dying Bride t shirt of the violist.

Back on the album I would finish this review mentioning that this is the darkest album that the band has released. I would also make a point about the excellent production and the very good front cover, two important pieces that completes the final puzzle. Well if you still are into high quality Metal and you want it Epic and powerful this album is for you. So you better move fast.
