The addition of Kenny Cheong in 2005, a Jazz Fusionbassist who plays a 5 string fretless, allowed Altera Enigma to further developtheir Jazz Fusion influences and develop their signature sound. Altera Enigma utilizes modulating time signatures, richJazz-Fusion inspired chord progressions and memorable, emotion driven melodies,and expressive, stunning lead work. Always conscious of melody and utilizingtight, powerful arrangements, their music takes listeners on an aural journeyvia sophisticated harmony and elaborate, engaging rhythms. These musicians drawon the complexity of instrumental bandslike Liquid Tension Experiment and Gordian Knot, the energy of Heavy Metalbands such as Iron Maiden, and then fuse it with the emotion and sophisticationof Jazz Fusion to meld their music into a fascinating, emotive, energeticjourney via the listeners ears, mind, heart and soul.
