Here's a torrent for the Japanese version of Nausicaa of The Valley of The Wind. While technically the most recent US release (the second one, by Disney) is unedited (unlike the first one which was also done by Disney, but was missing like 30min of the film, and also had the wrong title), it still doesn't seem "authentically Japanese" simply because of the Disney name attached to it. Not to mention that this fact is shoved in your face at the beginning when it says something like "Disney Presents". For true hardcore anime fans like me, while it's nice to have it in an English version if you don't know Japanese, most hardcore anime fans will also want a Japanese version. That is it is ripped from the Japanese DVD, not just that it is in the Japanese language (even the US Disney DVD release had that, if you selected that as your language instead of English). The Japanese DVD has something that can't be offered in the US, the fact that it IS the Japanese DVD, and that can be seen by the Japanese writing at the beginning instead of the "Disney Presents" writing. By the way, the Japanese writing says something about this anime being endorsed by the World Wildlife Fund or something like that (which makes perfect sense given the fact that the anime emphasizes the need to protect the environment, by showing how toxic a forest can get if mankind continues to pollute the environment).
The English subtitles are fanmade (not the original English subtitles that would be found on the Japanese DVD, if there ever were any). The subbing group that did the fansubs for this DVD rip is Nanban.
Also they are soft subs, meaning you can turn them on or off, rather than being stuck with them always on as with a hard sub (which means the subtitles are actually image data of the text in the frames of the video, and thus completely unremovable).
The spoken language is Japanese. The 2 available subtitle languages are English and Portuguese.
