Meiosis played their first concert in Durham in 1999. Throughout the early 2000s they played small gigs across the North East of England, showcasing energetic indie tunes such as 'Play Games With The Freaks', Melanchonic masterpieces like 'Strawberry' and the unforgettable post pop punk of CAPPAMAN. The full band disbanded in 2004 Martin Thompson, however, carried on playing acoustic concerts both on his own and with small ensembles. Today, inbetween him showcasing current local bands at live shows and playing occassional DJ sets he is writing new music for a forthcoming Meiosis release. Find here some tracks recorded by the band in Leeds as well as some performed by Martin on his own. Some free releases are now becoming available via Mininova.org. Martin is currently available for solo acoustic sets and is currently recruiting musicians for his new live ensemble.
