In 1966,a unique daytime soap opera hit american TV.DARK SHADOWS was the story of the Collins family, and an attempt to do something other than the typical soap plot. After 6 months of secrets and musty rooms, the show was on the verge of cancellation,so the producers decided to go for it and throw a vampire on the show. The introduction od 175 reluctant vampire Barnabas Collins turned the show into a major hit,and soon werewolves, witches and ghouls began to show up with regularity during its five-year run.It still has a huge fanbase, and there have beentwo feature films (with the original cast) two attempts to revive it on TV,as well as a possible upcoming film version with Johnny Depp(?) as Barnabas.
This documentary (originally produced in 1991) brings together many of the show\'s surviving stars to talk about the show, its huge popularity, the cheapness of it (many bloopers went on-air) and its legacy.Must viewing for fans of the show.
