THE DAY STREET BROTHEL BIO
Formed in July of 2007 by Singer / Songwriter / Guitarist Douglas B. Smith, The Day Street Brothel is Douglas’ vision of what a hard rock band should be. Performing lead guitar for 10 + years with Kingston Ontario musician Eric Voice, but needing the freedom to write the music that he wanted to play and record, Douglas began writing what would become the first Day Street Brothel CD, a 14 track self titled debut which was recorded by Duncan Holt between July 2007 & January 2009 at Concept Audio in Kingston, Ontario. For the Day Street Brothel (the CD) Douglas would perform all Lead & Backing vocal tracks, all Lead & Rhythm Guitar tracks, all Bass Guitar tracks & some Percussion. All drum tracks were performed by Duncan Holt, with the exception of two – “Leg To Stand On” & “Cumbersome” which is the only cover track on the CD. Drums on the aforementioned tracks were performed by Al Olner, who would later join the Day Street Brothel as a permanent drummer. Douglas would invite Kingston bassist Ryan Pugh to become a member of the D.S.B, & the rhythm guitar slot would be filled by newcomer Jonathan Berry, who would make the Day Street Brothel his first band.
Currently performing and looking to book more gigs, The Day Street Brothel is ready to work hard to perform at 100% at every show.
Drawing influences from Kiss, Nickelback, Black Label Society, & Godsmack, The Day Street Brothel is a Hard Rock powerhouse band whose music will have an appeal to everybody.
