Bigger than Led Zeppelin O2 Arena 10/12/07 - Simon's Krafty Radio Show
29/1/08 Very Live, wired and Straight Outta Hertford
Welcome to the soundtrack to the Apocalypse (Unrated Director's Cut).
A continuing series hosted by Simon Underground to the baying
accompaniment of a dedicated core of listeners across the globe.
Tuesdays aren't your average evening anymore; they're not even the new
Fridays - they're a hell of a lot better than Fridays ever were. The
info you need to know follows this public announcement; WHERE?, WHEN?,
HOW?. I deal with WHY? That's my job. Why? is because you can't hear
music of anywhere near this quality elsewhere. Why? is because there's
a simple joy in listening to banging tunes over headphones at full
volume. Why? is because this is a truly outstanding sound.
The usual formula applied this evening with the first hour dedicated
to new tunes, white labels, mp3's etc. Mind you, the odd anthem is
turning up in the first hour now to keep the crazed members of the
chatroom sedated - so, we had "Tears for Beers" by Hellfish off the
infamous CHANTLP8 doublepack and the gloriouus glorious glorious
Mystification tune "Crack-Up" due out on Hardline soonish. These tunes
will wire you straight into the National Grid. There's a new No-Tek
track (Adagio in G is the sample) which isn't taking any prisoners
either.
So much for the first hour; it was good. The second hour was
startling. Requests from the chatroom came in fast and furious and
were, by and large, inspired. These people know their tunes and Simon's
got a record collection to match - no worries. This was akin to
plummeting earthwards at vast speed on the end of a bungee rope when
you're afraid of heights. Superb stomp techno classics and fat acid
squiggle monsters - Cellblock X and Senical to name two from a roll
call of honour of savage sonic technicians. There was also one of the
infamous Super Special Corp crews and to top it all, the truly
brilliant annihilator that is "Devil Spawn" off the Massacre EP
(Embolism, FIST 10). Music don't get much better than this. There's a
lot of energy, attitude and enthusiasm in this; you want motivation?
Bang this out at high volume. Your mother won't like it.
Download this torrent; see Tuesdays in a new light.
Until next week.......Charlie2300
