Recorded in early 2006, then mixed and made into a master recording by the famous Rémy Pelleschi (leader of Mlada Fronta and director of Parametric record label), "The Floating World" is available in a magnificent 3 sided digipack, designed by Marie Gonzales (who also designed the album cover of “Silently Noisy”) and Lionel Londeix (Kurtz-G).
Composed of the core group Elise Montastier (vocals) / Patrice Debet (programming, samples and keyboards) and Manuel Costa (base, guitar and keyboards), has seriously increased its numbers for this second album. Aiming for a sound which is as refined as possible, the trio has recruited several guests, including the now familiar Mangane Ousseynou (vocals) and the newcomer Emmanuel Lajudie (drums).
A large number of compositions of “The floating world” have an orchestral and neoclassical touch, via the skilled contributions of the string ensemble Enigma and of the pianist Sabine Poudenx. These were recorded by Rémy Pelleschi at the Auditorium of the “Conservatoire National de Région”.
"The Floating World", without doubt, is a sizeable achievement. The Olen’K sound is cleaner and distinct, but keeps true to a
main focus: an open style. The amateurs of dark pop as well as electro and world music will enjoy this new collection of twelve titles, qualified as “exciting” and “magnificently produced” by the first listeners lucky enough to have had a sneak preview.
