Crews and Reese speak with past students and find out what happened to the instructor. Crews received a confidential file on Jack Reese and believes he discovered the killer in his case.

11 "Fill It Up" December 5, 2007
Crews locates the killer in his case and finds out exactly what happened the night his friends died. Crews also finds out more information about Jack Reese. While Crews is away, Reese is left the task of finding a gun used in a murder.

Trama:

Charlei Crews dopo 7 anni passati in carcere per un delitto che non ha commesso viene scagionato da un abile avvocato. Visto l'errore giudiziaro e la pena ingiusta da lui subita viene ricompensato dallo stato con un notevole conguaglio economico e, secondo sua esplicita richiesta, con la restituzione del suo vecchio posto di lavoro, con tanto di promozione: il poliziotto.

Promosso quindi a Detective si aggira per Los Angeles un po' spaesato, un po' stralunato e un po' zen, condizione accettata più o meno di buon grado dalle persone che lo circondano vista l'esperienza traumatica da lui ingiustammente vissuta. Oltre a risolvere i normali casi parallelamente indaga sulla vicenda che l'ha visto protagonista, suo malgrado, cercando ufficiosamente vittime e carnefici.

Ad accompagnarlo c'è la sua collega, Dani Reese, bellissima donna dal carattere scontroso con alle spalle problemi disciplinari: Ted Earley, amico conosciuto in galera (recluso per frode) che è il suo migliore amico, nonché coinquilino, nonché gestore del suo (immenso?) patrimonio e Constance Griffiths, l'intraprendente avvocatessa che ha seguito il suo caso, che lo ha riscattato e che gli ha reso una nuova vita, life appunto.
