CRS?/Dj Curious Born and raised in Los Angeles CRS? has been in the music world all his life. His father before him being a recording engineer at one of L.A.’s top studio of the times “The Sound Factory” in Hollywood he was practically born in the studio. He started on drums at the age of 8 which so happened to be the same year he was first fascinated with the art of Dj’in. At age 13 he received his first pair of turntables and hasn’t put then down since. He has spun in almost every city in North America and has released records all over the world. Including numerous tracks on his own “Herbn’ Music” as well as fellow label mate APX1’s Ghetto Life label. Also being signed to Top Cat's 9 Lives label based out the UK. He produced the hit single "Jah vibes" for Tenor Fly he shows his skills as a producer as well as a dj. CRS? has released over 500 mix-tapes since getting into the drum and bass scene over 18 years ago. His current projects include producing and engineering hip-hop artist Big Bam the Boss an official DPG member and has performed in L.A., Dallas, Seattle, Chicago, New York, Washington D.C., Portland, Miami, Las Vegas, Toronto, and Hawaii and have opened up for such artists as goldie, DJ Hype, Roni size, Kenny Ken, Grooverider, Fabio, LTJ Bukem, Dj Zinc, Taxman, Brian Gee, J.J. Frost, Total Science, John B., Mobb Deep, KRS-one, Lil’ John, Fat Joe, E-40, Too Short, Nelly, and Immortal Technique to name a few. Future projects include remixes of these hip-hop tracks as well as original drum and bass releases ranging from R&B styles to reggae and reggaeton flavors. A true veteran to the west coast flavor, CRS? represents what’s really going on in the streets of Los Angeles. “Our Ghetto". Now spreading the love for our culutre through series of monthly day parties called "I Love L.A." CRS? & Apx1 now give the oopurtunity to bring the L.A. scene together and express our different styles music all under one roof in just under 12 hours. The drum n bass scene in Los Angeles would be drastically different if not for the influence of the one like DJ CRS?. He has established himself as one of the godfathers of drum n bass here in the City of Angels. From rocking ol’ skool warehouse events back in the mid and late 90’s to rinsing clubs and massive from 2000 till today, CRS? is a name that frequents the lips of many established DJs within the Los Angeles circuit as an influence. His legacy doesn’t stop short with showcases behind the decks, but also include his production credits. He has roughly 30+ releases and hundreds of tunes he has passed out and played as “exclusives”. From the sounds of the dub/reggae influenced ragga jungle to aggressive amen sets even down to upfront drum n bass, CRS? is a rare DJ who has buck’d being pigeonholed and can play any style you want. He is lethal on the decks with the mix, has the ability to implore a jungle scratching technique perfected by few and most important is a favorite of dancefloors across the country. Recently (along with label mate APX-1) he ventured to South Africa to embark on a tour which literally “shut shit down”!!! Don’t sleep on this LA don.
David Dyer is set for power moves in 2009 and has been making noise for nearly a decade up to now. With a new music page finally up on the space, Dyer intends to let himself be known and remembered as a figurehead within Urban Music Culture. His styles span the range of Drum and Bass and Hip Hop, as he employs a well-crafted collection of music complete with Funk, Soul, and that Ol' Boom Bap! A Louisiana Native, David came to Florida at the age of 11 and began the endless vinyl search at 15. Snagging his first set of decks a year later, Dyer has been putting in work ever since. While honing his skills as Orlando's resident vinyl pusher behind the counter of The Drop Shop, O-Town's finest vinyl preserve, Dyer made contacts and began immersing himself within the Central Florida Scene. Hooking up w/ LT. Smash, The duo began broadcasting .. Radio as 'Future Flavaz'. The show then quickly graduated to the FM Dial on WPRK 91.5FM Rollins College Radio in Winter Park. The Future Flavaz Drum and Bass broadcasting efforts then morphed into a Show Production period after linking w/ DankOne. The Tripod made an impact with local enthusiasts by coordinating live showcases from some of the International Scene's most prominent players: The likes of NuTone, Commix, D-Bridge, Flight, Martyn, Atlantic Connection, The Insiders, TC1, and more. This show production stint then manifested into an ambitious and unprecedented label project 'The Prestige Music Group'. The Group developed a deal w/ Load Media UK and unveiled the imprint with a slew of solid releases from International producers including Redeyes, Alix Perez, Mutt, Syncopix, Pentagon, Ethix, Atlantic Connection, Beta2, Amaning, The Insiders, Kubiks, Lomax, Henree, Lynx, and more. While the project is still in post-fetal stages, Prestige Music is slated to become a power house label out of the US of A. Now a days, Not only can you find the Future Flavaz squad representing the sounds of Drum and Bass on WPRK mondays from 9p-11p EST, but you'll find them on the infamous Bassdrive.com every Tuesday Night from 10p-12a EST.
Along with Dyer's efforts within DnB, David has always been an enthusiast of Hip Hop Music. Holding down many residencies, Dyer has been rotating kicks and snares along with cohort LT. Smash for many years all across the state of Florida. Notably at venues such as House of Blues, Firestone, Roxy, and Icon to name a few, He has Dj'ed alongside such legendary names as Q Bert, Craze, Rob Swift, Guru, and Method Man. The pinnacle of Dyer's success spinning hip hop in the state of Florida may be being featured on the 'Rock The Bells' lineup in Miami for 2007. As of late, Dyer served as a dedicated minion to the POWER 95.3 players in the Fall of 08 as an Intern. He was then lucky enough to be featured as talent in the Calle Orange street festival with attendance near 100 thousand people! The direction of Hip Hop in the future is uncertain and confusing, but lookout for a hip hop sub-label stemming from the Prestige Music Fame not too far off in the distance.
The Future is very bright for Mr. Dyer as a trek Westward has been in the cards for sometime now. With intentions to relocate to Los Angeles, big plans are in store for Future Flavaz, Prestige Music, and his family of renegades. Lookout for Dj Dyer on the Streets of Hollywood in 09' and don't forget to Hollerate!
