Mexico has always been a hotbed of UFO sightings. One of its most infamous
sightings took place on August 24, 1974.
US air defence radar tracked an object that travelled 500 miles from the
Gulf of Mexico to a small town called Coyame, near the border. When the
object suddenly disappeared from radar, both the US and Mexican authorities
scrambled to get to the crash site.
But did a UFO crash and was its wreckage sent to a secret US location?
It is also said that this incident caused a rash of UFO sightings to this
day, most notably, the solar eclipse over Mexico City in 1991, where thousands
of UFO sightings took place, many of which were videotaped.
Well-known Latin American journalist Jaime Maussan is among the experts who
weigh in on whether a UFO did crash at this site, or if it is simply local legend.
