Here are the later, digital recordings Karajan made of these two great Strauss works. The record guides consider this one of Karajan's very best records, and better than his earlier analog recordings of these pieces.

The recording is notable for having better sound than many early digital recordings. The sound is not as brittle, bright or edgy as many others from this era, but it is still "early digital." It pales in comparison to recent Telarc recordings, for example.

Still, this is by no means a hindrance to enjoying these great performances. This CD is usually only available as an expensive import - so please hit the "thanks" button. Enjoy!
