A musical and acoustical treat for the lovers of fortepiano music.

When you hear the first beats of the opening sonata, think of this: Burgmüller was only 16 years old when he composed that great piece! He died when he was 26 (check the review below).

Very informative booklet included, dealing with the aspects of sound of the two fortepianos used for that recording: the Graf fortepiano (light Viennese action, only wooden construction, gorgeous ranges of shades of sound) and the Pleyel fortepiano (heavier action, with metal frame already, more homogeneous sound). The booklet also shows interesting photos of the instruments, e.g. close-ups of the differently built hammerheads.
