Imagine leaving behind the stress of everyday life and taking your family to a paradise island for three weeks.
There’s just one catch – you have to build your own shelter, catch your own food and rely totally on each other for company and survival.
Would you end up living the good life in the sunshine or having a shipwrecked nightmare?
A selection of families is up for the challenge. They’ve all hit hard times because of the credit crunch and are hoping that this will give them the chance to reassess what’s really important in their lives as well as giving them some quality time together.
First up are the Dyes from Essex. They used to have a three car, three holidays a year lifestyle but now the family business is failing and they could do with a dose of sunshine.
Of course, things don’t work out quite how they expect. Their shelter looks more like a coffin than a beach hut, they can’t find any food and when they’re gifted a pig by the local villagers an almighty row erupts over whether to keep the porker as a pet or sacrifice him to the pot.
Will the Dyes end up having a fun time in the sunshine or are they dying to get back to Essex?
