I was very luck to meet Doc Tate Nevaquaya in his house in Oklahoma in 1993.
That day I was there to meet him and buy his tape of Native American flute songs and a painting.
Then his wife called him and he went to their room to play a song for her.
After he told me she's asked him to do so because she had a headache.
In 1995 I came back to Brazil and could never forget this scene.
I listened to that tape once in a while since then.
But as technology increases, I tried to find his CD, but I just couldn't.
Not even looking up in the internet. So I decided to get my old tape and put it in my PC and now share with others.
I understand the quality is not that good, but I also understand the importance of not letting this be forgotten forever. And considering that he had passed away a couple of years after I had met him.

Sinto-me sortudo em ter conhecido Doc Tate Nevaquaya em sua casa em Oklahoma em 1993.
Naquele dia eu estava lá para conhecê-lo e para comprar sua fita K7 de músicas indígenas e um quadro.
Então sua esposa o chamou e ele foi até seu quarto para tocar uma música pra ela.
Depois ele me disse que ela o pedira porque estava com dor de cabeça.
Em 1995 eu voltei ao Brasil e nunca pude me esquecer daquela cena.
Eu ouvi aquela fita algumas vezes desde então.
Mas tal qual a tecnologia crece, eu tentei encontrar seu CD, mas não consegui.
Nem mesmo procurando na internet. Então decidi pegar minha velha fita e passá-la para o PC e agora compartilhar com outros.
Eu sei que a qualidade não é boa, mas também sei da importância em não deixar isso ser esquecido para sempre. Ainda mais depois que soube que ele viera a falecer poucos anos após ter estado com ele.
