New Cd (Pieces) to be released by Dead Men Don't Ski on May 19th, 2008. A combined fuse of funk, reggae, rock, acoustic ballads and some of the strangest guitar sounds I have ever heard since Captain Beefheart. Check em out live if they ever hit your town. Some of their official bio:
With little than six years as a full-piece band, Dead Men Don’t Ski has been a small premier in Oregon’s growing alternative scene, producing only a few EPs and no full records. Yet their fan base has continued to grow as more peoples become interested in their mashup of genres, combining whatever they see fit together and interpreting that into their own mess. The band has been appraised for creating an alternative slow rock yet the absence of several key players has made audiences wanting something hard with a little melody. Comparisons have been made with Captain Beefheart, to Hendrix, to My Bloody Valentine to Sublime yet guitarist Guilty claims it is simply a “revolt of the acute senses that forces you to listen to a broad horizon of sounds and then put it into your own ‘ski’ style.
