Fruit Soup Limited - September 28th 2007
Colin Close are an alternative folk duo originating from Liverpool, England. They have just become the first artist to produce a release under the recently formed independent record label Fruit Soup with their debut production, the Colin Close EP. The record will eventually be available from all good online retailers via digital distribution, as well as from the official Colin Close homepage (address printed below) in both MP3 and FLAC formats. Released as a precursor to the planned full-length LP currently in production, the EP is intended to raise interest in both the respected artist and in the associated record label.
Colin Close have become the first artist to release a record on the recently formed Fruit Soup independent label with their debut release, the Colin Close EP. Consisting of four completely original tracks combining the group’s recognisable blend of acoustic guitar work and subtle vocal melodies, the EP - which has been written, performed, recorded and produced by the duo - has been released to increase interest in the full-length LP which is currently under production by the group and will most likely appear later this year.
Comprising of Rob Hamer on guitar and Jan Staunton on vocals, the duo are most commonly likened to popular singer-songwriter acts such as Elliott Smith, Jos? Gonz?lez, Nick Drake and Damien Rice, incorporating a wide range of abstract themes and ideas into their music.
The EP is on sale now via digital distribution, and is available on a range of online music outlets as well as from the artists’ homepage, which you’ll find a link to below.
