In the 1940 serial \"The Shadow,\" starring Alaskan-born Victor Jory,

the Master of Darkness battles a villain known as The Black Tiger,

who has the power to make himself invisible and is trying to take

over the world with his death ray.

Each of this serial\'s fifteen chapters had its own lobby card, a

small photographic ad displayed in theater lobbies of the era.
