In 1990, following the success of the Batman films of Tim Burton, Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski Warner Bros to offer a little promo about a possible animated series centered on the character of Batman. Warner is interested in the project immediately so particular and original Timm and Radomski and make them available to the team of animators used for the Tiny Toons series. It was sent to the United States in 1992 (the first season ended in 1995) while in Italy was sent on several occasions from Italy 1st
The atmosphere of the events is as gloomy in the Burton film or in comic books after Return of the Dark Knight and Year One, mixed with a special retro flavor with a hint of irony in order to win the hearts of young audiences. The stories range from classic to fight crime, with leaks and acrobatics, to the police in which Batman performs detections as a policeman of science. The series was awarded an Emmy and two Daytime Emmy.

Nel 1990, sulla scia degli ottimi risultati del film Batman di Tim Burton, Bruce Timm ed Eric Radomski propongono alla Warner Bros un piccolo promo su una possibile serie animata incentrata sul personaggio di Batman. La Warner si interessa subito al progetto cosi' particolare ed originale di Timm e Radomski e mette loro a disposizione il team di animatori utilizzati per la serie Tiny Toons. E' stata trasmessa negli Stati Uniti a partire dal 1992 (la prima stagione si ? conclusa nel 1995), mentre in Italia ? stata trasmessa in diverse occasioni da Italia 1.
L'atmosfera degli episodi e' cupa come nel film di Burton o come nei fumetti successivi a Il ritorno del Cavaliere Oscuro e ad Anno Uno, mescolata ad un particolare gusto retro' e con un pizzico di ironia, per potersi accattivare le simpatie del pubblico giovane. Le storie spaziano dalla classica lotta al crimine, con fughe ed acrobazie, fino ai polizieschi in cui Batman esegue rilevamenti come un poliziotto della scientifica. La serie e' stata premiata con un Emmy e due Daytime Emmy.
