When this 12-part series came out I decided to collect them all. I ordered the first one and took a look. I changed my mind. So, now, this is the only one I have. Perhaps taking a look at the first three episodes will help someone else to decide whether they would like it or not. I think it's okay, just not a keeper. Maybe I'm not a Sam Neill fan.

There is a comments text file but no closed captions file.
I guess not including subtitles is a statement that they didn't expect it to be much in demand.

This business of subtitles is going to change. I am from the older generation.
But the Baby Boomers, those who seem to be in charge of everything now, will be different. Starting with boom boxes going on down to home theaters, everything is played too loud. It's safe to say that that generation will have more hearing problems than mine. Of course they will have electronic gadgetry, wireless headphones and tiny hearing aides and such, but more of them will have damaged hearing beginning in their seventies than us old geezers did.

That is one of the reasons I decided to publish my home-made subtitles. There are quite a few classic movies, such as Anne of Green Gables and Brideshead Revisited down through the VHS Norman Rosemont, Sir Lew Grade, versions of The Count of Monte Cristo, The Man in the Iron Mask and The Scarlet Pimpernel that will be neglected, having no subtitles. There will be many people who think the previous versions are best.

I made the first 25 for my own household use, but I realize now there may be many other families with similar situations to my own, and would appreciate having what I have.


Why I went on from there and uploaded other good stuff is another matter.
