Carpia is een vredig koninkrijk in een wereld van draken, ridders en magische uitvindingen dat wordt geregeerd door Koning Augustin (Arnold Vosloo) en zijn vrouw Koningin Remini. Hierbij worden ze geadviseerd door de koninklijke adviseur Paxian Ru. Het land van de rust wordt al enige tijd wreed verstoord door een Fire Dragon die dood en verderf zaait in het land. De wrede koning Quilok biedt hen onderdak en ondersteuning, maar alleen in ruil voor Carpia\'s gehoorzaamheid. Om het koninkrijk te redden van de ondergang, begeeft de roekeloze prinses Luisa (Amy Acker) zich op een gevaarlijke zoektocht naar een verdwenen drakendoder. En tijdens die reis ontmoet ze twee vrijbuiters, Gabriel (Tom Wisdom) en Sangimel (John Rhys-Davies).

Fire and Ice has all the elements of a classical tale — kings, queens, knights — but it also comes with some innovations : the old hellish beast has turned into a dragon, while Prince Charming, or the hero who saves the day, is now embodied by a princess. Here’s the story in a nutshell : a prosperous kingdom is attacked by a dragon that destroys everything in its path. The king thinks there is no hope and he is preparing to admit defeat, but his daughter, Luisa, with the help of a knight, Gabriel, manages to save the land.
