Daughtry is a rock band from North Carolina, formed and fronted by former American Idol finalist Chris Daughtry in 2006. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2006 and reached No.1 for two non-consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200, outsold Idol winner Taylor Hicks' debut album, sold more than four million copies and was named the number one selling album of 2007 by Billboard. Their album was also the fastest-selling debut rock album in Soundscan history. The first single from the album, 'It's Not Over', was the eighth most played song across all formats on U.S. radio in 2007, and their second single from the album, 'Home', was the tenth most played song in the U.S. of 2007.

'Leave This Town' is the second album from American stadium-rockers Daughtry, whose debut was phenomenally successful and became the biggest selling album of 2007. 'Leave This Town' [the title is from a lyric in 'September'] features co-writes with Chad Kroeger from Nickleback and RyanTedder from One Republic, and is much heavier than its predecessor. The song written with Chad Kroeger, 'No Surprise', is the album's first single. The album sold 269,000 copies in its first week in the U.S., peaking at No.1, and so far has sold 571,000 copies. It peaked at No.2 in Canada, 6 places ahead of its predecessor.
