Alanis Nadine Morissette [born June 1st 1974 in Ottowa, Ontario] is a Canadian-born singer-songwriter, record producer, and actor. She has won 12 Juno Awards and seven Grammy Awards, and has sold over 55 million albums worldwide. Morissette began her career in Canada, and as a teenager recorded two dance-pop albums, 'Alanis' and 'Now Is the Time', under MCA Records. Her international debut album was the rock-influenced 'Jagged Little Pill', which remains the best-selling debut album by a female artist in the U.S., and the highest selling debut album worldwide in music history. According to RIAA and United World Charts, Alanis is the biggest selling female rock artist in music. Her following album, 'Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie', was released in 1998 and was a success as well. Morissette took up producing duties for her subsequent albums, which include 'Under Rug Swept', 'So-Called Chaos'. Alanis became an American citizen in 2005.

'Flavors Of Entanglement' is the seventh studio album and fifth international release by Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette. The album, which was originally set for an April release, was released May 30th 2008 in Germany, Benelux and Brazil, released internationally on June 2nd 2008 and in the United States on June 10th 2008. It was produced by Guy Sigsworth. According to Morissette, the album features a "nice cross-section" of "joy and levity" similar to what is featured on her 2004 album, 'So-Called Chaos', and "the kind of rock bottom, holy shit, I am a broken woman moment". She said that the album features songs about her own personal relationships, explaining that writing about them is her favourite activity "cause it's the only thing I can really comment on with any kind of conviction or authority". The album incorporates themes involving both personal and political conflict, and Morissette explained that "Our emotions align themselves with larger symptomatic things in the world. We face a large war out there, but the album more closely reflects the war in peoples' living rooms... the icy silence at home, versus the big cold war". 'Underneath' was the first single to be released from the album. This is the Deluxe Edition with a bonus disc of 5 new songs.
