If you used to play with toy submarines and aircraft carriers in the bathtub when you were a wee lad, Warship Gunner 2 may be just the game for you. Featuring a mix of strategy and arcade-esque gameplay, the game attempts to toss in a slew of strategic naval battle tactics while keeping things moving at a quick pace.
The whole game feels a bit different than most any other PS2 game youll pop in your system these days. Firstly, you dont come across naval battle games very often, so theres that. On top of that though, the cut-scenes employ SNES-style 2D images with a simple text overlay. It certainly has a very old-school look, to say the least.
Once youre in the game, the first thing youll need to do is run through the games rather extensive tutorial system. Unless youve played through the original Warship Gunner, its likely that the controls will feel entirely foreign to you. Its not that they dont make sense, as once you get them down everything works great, but its not a simplistic pick-up-and-play title.
