This is the latest from Games Workshop, people. Imagine playing a full scale planetary invasion in a streamlined format. Now imagine this being played in a fashion similar to Apocalypse, with army specific stratagems being deployed throughout the game and a new set of Force Organization charts for both attacker and defender. Imagine this type of battle starting off your summer campaign!
This is the newest expansion to the Warhammer 40,000 universe. This book has been written in a slightly different format than many of the others in the past. Whereas many times it seemed in the past that the GW crew was striving more for exactness and clarity in the rules, at the expense of fun, this book has purposely been left a bit grey around the edges. This rule set is emphasized over and over as being flexible and open to interpretation. It seems GW is trying to get away from the rules lawyer reputation it has gained in editions past.
Anyway, I have so far played 7 Planetstrike games, ranging from 1500 to 3000 points, and I have to say, the game is tons of fun. Not so supremely different from standard 40k that the novice won't be able to play, yet different enough to encourage many new lines of thinking. Many units that sat on the back burner for most games due to not being competitive have all of a sudden been put in the spotlight for other purposes such as bunker busting and line holding.
This scan is the full book and in full color. This is not my scan, I simply found it and wanted to pass it along. Kudos to original uploader.
