Cesar Millan has been called a Dr. Phil for dogs, and for good reason. Cesar's amazing rehabilitations of aggressive, scared, lazy, compulsive, and jealous dogs captured the national spotlight when his National Geographic Channel (NGC) series Dog Whisperer premiered in September 2004. Regular viewers soon came to realize it wasn't the dogs but the quirky owners who needed Cesar's help the most. In January 2006, Dog Whisperer returned for a primetime second season with expanded hour-long episodes. The expanded hour-long episodes of the subsequent seasons give viewers what they are clamoring for: more time to witness Cesar's rehabilitation of dogs and training of their owners. Going directly into homes without any prior information or preparation on that day's case, Dog Whisperer documents the remarkable transformations that take place under Cesar's calm-assertive guidance. Cesar is often the last resort for clients confronting crises with their beloved pets. While most of Dog Whisperer episodes take place in and near the homes of dogs and their owners, Cesar sometimes decides to bring extreme cases to his Dog Psychology Center for Power of the Pack training. There, they meet his resident dogs, which number as many as 50 at a time, last-chance Rottweilers, pit bulls, and Dobermans originally marked for death but now enjoying a new lease on life while assisting Cesar in training other dogs. Dog Whisperer is produced by MPH Entertainment and Emery/Sumner Productions for National Geographic Channel (NGC). Executive producers for MPH Entertainment are Jim Milio, Melissa Jo Peltier, and Mark Hufnail. Sheila Possner Emery and Kay Bachman Sumner are producers. For National Geographic Channel, executive producer is Char Serwa. Senior Vice President of Production is Michael Cascio. Executive in charge of production is John Ford.

Episode 1: Brady, Bandit and Hootie (Jan/06/2006)

Brady, a four-year-old yellow Lab, is “crazy for water,” as its owner, Jim Livingston, puts it. Host Cesar Millan gets into the Livingstons' backyard pool to control Brady's obsession with swimming. Then Millan meets Bandit, a Chihuahua that's nice to its owner, Lori Ovanessian---and bites every other person it meets; and Hootie, an Australian shepherd that's terrified of children.

Episode 2: Sonny, Chocolate & Cinnamon and Boo (Jan/13/2006)

Cesar Millan meets Sonny, a fearful German shepherd; Cinnamon, an aggressive dachshund; and Boo, a pug that runs away. Sonny fears people, and owner Cyndi Reynolds feels sorry for him. That's the problem, says Millan, who shows Reynolds how to be more confident with Sonny. Cinnamon's owner has a similar problem. “You show weakness,” Millan says, “and they show dominance.” And Boo's bored because his owner can't walk him. Boo also senses her guilt and takes advantage.

Episode 3: Buddy, Teddy and Matilda (Jan/27/2006)

Patients include a once-abandoned Lab-Staffordshire mix that's vicious to small animals (though friendly to people); a poodle that spins out of control when cars pass nearby; and an English bulldog with an appetite for skateboard wheels.

Episode 4: JonBee, Violet & Hudson and Buford (Feb/03/2006)

A Korean Jindo dog is affectionate to its owners---when they're outside. Indoors, it's a different story. A Great Dane has completely taken over its owners' house, especially their bed. And a grieving boxer that misses its late mate won't accept the new one its owners have provided.

Episode 5: Isis & Tina, Nugget, and Katrina Dogs (Feb/03/2006)

Dogs left stranded after Hurricane Katrina are cared for in Operation Ruffugee by the Second Chance at Love Humane Society and host Cesar Millan. Also: love at first sight for a couple---but not their dogs, pit bulls Isis and Tina; and Nugget, a dog who's eating his owners out of house and home. Almost literally: Nugget's diet includes dish towels and the family's trampoline.

Episode 6: Buddy, Tiger & Roxy, and Booker (Feb/17/2006)

Rottweilers Tiger and Roxy, who were abandoned as puppies, are growing into attack dogs---biting even their owner; a corgi-papillon mix isn't called Buddy the Biter for nothing; and a vizsla named Booker is having trouble with city life after having lived in the country.

Episode 7: Duke & Lulu and Sparky (Feb/17/2006)

An aggressive Doberman mix instigates fights between other dogs; a bossy Pomeranian is the diva of her dog park; and a terrier mix acts aggressively toward other animals---and gives panic attacks to his owner, who visits host Cesar Millan's dog-psychology center.

Episode 8: Chip, Lucy, Hank & Betty, and Leo (Mar/03/2006)

Cesar Millan helps actress Denise Richards, who owns three dogs---that really own her. Betty, a pug, and Boston terrier Lucy compete with each other; Betty bites people; and Hank, a French bulldog, fights with other dogs. Millan's strategy: work on Richards. Also: A miniature pinscher named Chip bites visitors and family members alike. And Leo, a lazy basset hound, refuses to walk, forcing his owner to pick the 50-pound pooch and carry him.

Episode 9: Spike, Jake & Nugget, and Wendell (Mar/10/2006)

A woman has two aggressive former strays (a chow mix and a Lab/pit-bull mix) and a fiancé who wants her to choose between them and him. She opts for Cesar Millan first. Also: A family replaced its beloved deceased German shepherd with another that isn't so beloved. In fact, he's a biter. And a satisfied sheltie owner acquired another that doesn't get along with the first one and barks incessantly.

Episode 10: Pasha, Cosmo, and Contessa (Mar/17/2006)

Cesar Millan tries to calm down a vicious four-year-old beagle-Lab mix that has vexed other trainers. Plus, he helps a newlywed couple who get along much better than their dogs do. The primary offender: the husband's belligerent shepherd mix. Then there's a two-year-old Shar-Pei that goes crazy whenever she sees dogs on TV. The program that drives her craziest: “The Dog Whisperer.”

Episode 11: Princess, Prada and Bearz (Mar/24/2006)

Featured: Princess, a nasty Maltese owned by Los Angeles Lakers VP Jeanie Buss that nips at the heels of the players and coach Phil Jackson, who also happens to be Buss's boyfriend. Jackson's new name for the pooch: Princess Cujo, after the Stephen King novel about a rabid dog.

Episode 12: Katrina Dogs Part 2, Major Jones and Josie (Mar/31/2006)

In a follow-up to an episode in which host Cesar Millan took in three canine refugees from Hurricane Katrina, Millan assesses their physical and psychological progress and takes them to a vet while his wife, Ilusion, tries to track down their owners. Also: Millan tends to a chocolate Lab that's terrified of her owners' new hardwood floors, and checks in on a Great Dane that had a similar problem last season. And he works with a German shepherd that's a “bucking bronco” while on a leash.

Episode 13: Eppie, Lady and Snoopy (Apr/07/2006)

A move has made a Lab-beagle mix very aggressive. Also: a Dalmatian-German-shepherd mix that barks relentlessly at people; and a beagle that sniffs too much and yelps and whimpers constantly, except when he's on a boogie board in a pool.

Episode 14: Greta & Hoss, Storm, and Chula (Apr/14/2006)

A woman who rescued a pregnant Akita from the side of a freeway has problems with one of her pups that is too aggressive. Host Cesar Millan also meets a Newfoundland that won't eat and a Shiba Inu that won't stay put. Millan's solution for this pooch includes GPS technology.

Episode 15: Pups on Parole, Eton & Dolly (Apr/21/2006)

Host Cesar Millan goes behind bars to work with Nevada prison inmates in a dog-training program called Pups on Parole, which focuses on obedience, housebreaking and leash training in an effort to find homes for strays.

Episode 16: Vicki & Taz, Punkin and Maddy (Apr/28/2006)

Host Cesar Millan tries to calm down a pair of very aggressive miniature-pinscher siblings, wean a pit-bull mix that's too attached to his pet rocks, and get a white terrier to lose her fear of men.

Episode 17: Dax, Pete, Nixa, and Sugar and Snowflake

Cesar works with three families: one with an over-exuberant puppy, one with three German Shepherd Dogs with pack issues, and one with a controlling little fluffball who rules the house.

Cesar works with a family who has a Yorkie who eats shrubs, an apartment dwelling family whose dog barks excessively while they’re not home and Miniature Bull Terrier who is aggressive with large dogs.

Episode 19: Power of the Pack

Cesar reflects on some of his most difficult cases and shows how his LA dog psychology center ("the home of his pack&quot has helped in the rehabilitation process. He also introduces some of the dogs, including a few owned by celebrities.

Episode 20: Greta & Hoss, Storm and Chula

First aired: 8/4/2006
Cesar deals with a Newfoundland who won’t eat, a pair of large dogs with aggression issues, and a Shiba Inu who bolts out the front door.
