In Silent Dragon, Diggle focuses on a single, solitary warrior once again. His name is Renjiro, an honourable soldier in a futuristic world that is a combination of ancient philosophies and high-tech gadgets. He is the close friend and bodyguard of a powerful Yakuza boss of great ambition who seeks to unite the Yakuza gangs in a fight against government oppressors that have seized Japan in order to install a new world order. On the eve of a great meeting between the gangs, Renjiro learns of a plot to bring down his master and friend. Too late to escape, Renjiro is caught in a web of deceit.

Silent Dragon takes place in a universe of its own, a creator owned series in which Diggle has full control over his characters and their culture. The futuristic Japan he has created is a combination of the old and the not yet made, a place where ancient samurai values have been reborn and coexist with the likes of holographic messengers. It's a heavy and brooding place where Renjiro, a gangster's bodyguard, has more honour than the men who run the country's governments.
