ABOUT THE AUDIO BOOKS
Dana Stabenow's crime series starring Kate Shugak contains a total of 16 books to date.

This torrent contains the first three books. (More to come!)

BACKGROUND
Kate is an Alaska Native of Aleut descent. After an violent attack while working for the district attorney's office in Anchorage, she has withdrawn to an inherited homestead in the Chugach national park. The nearest village is tiny Niniltna, which is home to many of Kate's relatives, as well as a mixed bunch of excentrics, bush dwellers and other rural Alaskans.

Kate initally thought she was done with crime investigations, but having been the most successful investigator at the DA, she is soon sought out to help out on a freelance basis. While working as a consultant investigator Kate encounters cases that take her to the far ends of the state, and forces her to deal with issues in her own background, as well as social problems typical to Alaska.

These particular books in the series are not available electronically anywhere. The later books available in the series are copyrighted for sale within the US only... Luckily, all 16 books have been ripped from cassette and .aa format ;-) They will be gradually uploaded and hopefully shared!

About the M4B Format:
The format is M4B which is primarily used by iTunes although it's very easy to make it accessible to other players.
This format is excellent for Audiobooks because it remembers your last position after you take a break in listening.
Also, M4B imports into the Audiobook folder in iTunes.
A mini-picture will appear on your iPod as you play the audio book

IF YOU DON'T WANT .M4B FORMAT:
M4b files can be converted to MP4 by simply changing the extension from M4B to MP4. This makes the file more universally accessible.
If you still prefer MP3 format it is not hard to find a converter and perform a conversion from MP4 into MP3.
The 'Total Audio Converter' shareware is the best converter I have encountered. Other good ones are Switch and Media Monkey.
