Fans of the series may remember an entrepreneur this time last year who tried to persuade the Dragons to invest in her simple idea: a low-wattage "fake TV" light to give burglars the impression you're home when you're not. Manchester inventor Samantha Gore fluffed her presentation and got a right savaging, with Deborah Meaden (usually so forgiving) calling hers possibly the worst pitch they'd seen. You might expect someone to slink away for good after that, but no, Samantha's a sucker for punishment, returning tonight to pitch a new crime-deterrent device. Preview DVDs weren't available, but we can imagine the Dragons' delight on seeing her again. Also looking for help are a pianist hoping his youthful take on the classics will get a Dragon to finance his recordings (not as daft as it sounds - the Dragons have backed musicians before, the fools) and, in what looks like the dull-but-viable slot, a London businessman pitching his range of protective coverings for mobile phones and computer equipment.
