GALAGA was a classic in the arcades of the 1980s. Wave after wave of space insects would come after you ship, and it was up to you to defeat them. As with all arcade games of the time, the gameplay was simple but addictive. Hasbro Interactive brings GALAGA into the present with GALAGA: Destination Earth for the PlayStation. The game has three different play modes (the top-down, 2D mode will remind older gamers of the arcade version). New stages include side-scrolling action and levels that are rendered in full 3D. Even with the new looks, the gameplay remains the same: shoot as many bugs as possible while they loop around your ship and try to get to the next wave. Should one of your ships get caught in a tractor beam, you can free it to earn double firepower. Anyone who was a fan of the arcade game is going to love GALAGA: Destination Earth.
