Retro Collection

This is just a quick complication I made for my TMNT site, that I thought I would share with you guys. It isn't really too special, just all the releases from 1989 through to 1993 for NES, SNES, Game Boy, Genesis, and DOS. I left out the arcade versions of the games as they all have ports to the systems which are included, plus it makes life simpler :)

There are no emulators included for obvious reasons, but you can see a list of recommended emulators here: NES, SNES, Game Bot, Genesis, and just DOSBox for DOS.

(NES/1989)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Retro Collection Collection/1989 preview 3
The game was developed by Konami and originally released on the Nintendo Entertainment System through Konami's new Ultra Games imprint. While it was released to coincide with the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series, the game's gritty tone and visual style retained the feel of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book series and even included many of the character designs from it rather than the cartoon. As such, very few characters from the show appear in the game. The most notable exceptions are the appearances of foes Bebop and Rocksteady and the mobile fortress called the "Technodrome" within the game, none of which appeared in the original comic series.
(Arcade Port/1989)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Retro Collection Collection/1989 preview 4
The player chooses from one of the four Ninja Turtles: Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael. After Shredder kidnaps the turtles' friend April O'Neil and their mentor Splinter, they must give chase, save their comrades, and defeat their nemeses.

The majority of the enemies the Turtles must face are the Foot Soldiers. They wear a different colored uniform depending on what weapon they have.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan
(Game Boy/1990)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Retro Collection Collection/1989 preview 0
You control your Turtle through a total of five stages, battling Krang and Shredder's minions along the way. Enemies include primarily Foot Soldiers, but also include Mousers and Roadkill Rodney. If a Turtle runs out of health, he is captured and you must select another Turtle to pick up where he left off. If all four Turtles are captured, the game is over. You can recover captured Turtles as well as lost health by winning the hidden mini-games scattered throughout each stage. You can also recover health by finding pizza, which is located in certain locations or dropped by defeated enemies. At the end of each stage, you battle a boss.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Manhattan Missions
(DOS/1991)
The only game released only for PC. This game was unique for giving the Turtles a different "walk mode" and "fight mode", with different offensive and defensive moves in each.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project
(NES/1991)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Retro Collection Collection/1989 preview 5
The Turtles are vacationing at a beach in sunny Florida. When they turn on their travel TV to see April's latest remote news report. As April reports on the escalating crime statistics, the network's signal goes out. Suddenly Shredder appears on screen with a message directed at the turtles themselves. He raises the entire island of Manhattan skyward and takes April as hostage. Seeing this, the turtles take action and cut their vacation short. As now they must return home, rescue April, and put Manhattan back to sea level.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Back from the Sewers
(Game Boy/1991)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Retro Collection Collection/1989 preview 6
The sequel to TMNT: Fall of the Foot Clan. Like the first Game Boy game, the player could select a turtle between stages, but when a turtle is defeated during a stage, they get captured, like the first NES game. The player can get a chance to rescue a captured turtle after clearing a stage.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time
(Arcade Port/1991)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Retro Collection Collection/1989 preview 7
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time is the second TMNT arcade game produced by Konami, and released in 1991. Once again, it was a scrolling fighting game based on the 80s TMNT animated series. It is still considered one of the great achievements of the TMNT franchise even to this day.Though the turtles no longer had unique special moves. It features a sample of the song "Pizza Power," from the live performance Coming Out of Their Shells Tour. It was ported to the SNES as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time in 1992, becoming the first TMNT game for the SNES.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist
(Genesis/1992)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Retro Collection Collection/1989 preview 1
April O'Neil is reporting from Ellis Island when, in a sudden flash of light, her audience and herself witness Manhattan Island suddenly starting to shrink. Shredder then hijacks the airwaves and announces to the world that this was only a demonstration of the power of the Hyperstone, the treasure of Dimension X. With the Hyperstone in his possession, he now has the power to take over the world. The Turtles have no choice but to go after Shredder and stop him.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Radical Rescue
(Game Boy/1993)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Retro Collection Collection/1989 preview 8
The player begins the game taking control of Michelangelo, who must rescue the other turtles, along with Splinter and April O'Neil. Unlike other games based on TMNT, this is a scrolling action-adventure game reminiscent of the Metroid and the recent 2D Castlevania games. Each turtle has a different ability which is necessary to finish the game. Michelangelo can hover using his nunchakus as a helicopter, Leonardo can drill the floor by spinning with his katana, Raphael can hide himself inside his shell to enter passages that are otherwise too small to enter, and Donatello can stick to and climb walls.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters
(NES/SNES/Genesis/1993)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Retro Collection Collection/1989 preview 2
Developed by Konami, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters is a fighting game. While the title is the same, the game is drastically different for each console. Like many competitive fighting games of the era, Tournament Fighters borrowed heavily from elements contained in the Street Fighter II video game. The game was released in 1993, when the TMNT's popularity was declining. As such, the game was largely ignored and didn't sell very well, though some players enjoyed the games, particularly the SNES version, which it is considered the superior of the three. It was one of the first SNES fighting games to feature a "super bar" that allowed characters to use a super move when full. That innovation was unnoticed however, due to the game's poor popularity at the time.
