Aksys Games has announced Jake Hunter Detective Story: Memories of the Past for DS.
The game is a re-tooled version of the previous release (Jake Hunter: Detective Chronicles) instead of an all-new game or a North American version of the latest Japanese title in the series. Instead Aksys has sought to re-release the first game the way it was meant to be . . . with a ton of content that was cut from the original North American release, a completely new translation and even an all-new episode just for North American fans.
The game contains all five of the stories from the original game that were cut out, as well as three brand new stories and an all-new mode called Jake Hunter Unleashed. This mode has new artwork and six mind-boggling comedic stories which were released on cell phones in Japan. The stories from the previous North American release have also been retranslated with a new localization as mentioned above.
The game also has a bunch of extras such as interviews, short stories, unlockable artwork, etc. Hopefully this re-release sells well enough to warrant the releasing of the other Japanese entries that have yet to be seen in the West.
Key features of Jake Hunter Detective Story: Memories of the Past include:
* More Mysteries to Solve: Play through all five episodes, plus an all new original episode made
specifically for Jake Hunter on Nintendo DS!
* Unleash The Jake In You: Get ready for some hilarious and suspicious misadventures in five
Jake Hunter Unleashed! comic episodes! Also included is an original comic episode added for this DS iteration of Jake Hunter!
* A Plethora Of Unlockables: Uncover more passwords than before and unlock short stories, interviews with the developers, and much, much more!
