He is a DIY maestro and earns enough for them to turn their house into the pride of the street. This is the simple starting point for Rachel Joyce\'s comedy drama, which then quadruples in complexity as the truth behind their 20-year marriage springs out as they try to construct a gift for their son\'s birthday. Robert Bathurst and Felicity Montagu play Alan and Alice as a couple so tightly coiled with bitterness and frustration that they could take down a whole branch of B&Q if they were to go off.
