I wasn't really looking forward to this since I'm not overkeen on the new album but - fair to say - the expanded seven piece set up transformed the new material so it's much more akin to the Felt Mountain material which is a good sign.
The Symphony Hall is a lovely venue and the acoustics are brilliant although since we were on row three (just left of centre) there was a bit of reverb since we weren't in the PA sweet spot. Then again, we were closer to the lovely Alison (which would you prefer?)
Overall a fantastic concert. Some work colleagues were there who had a vague interest in Goldfrapp but even they agreed the performance was superb.
Oh - the recording is pretty damn good too - especially the latter half of the performance.
Note: apologies for the microphone bashing at the beginning: the mic clip just wouldn't stay attached to my jacket. I also edited out a couple of seconds of inter song mic bashing prior to tracks 2 & 3.
