In Giappone è serializzato nel Weekly Shonen Sunday, a partire dal 9 agosto 2002. Ne è anche stato tratto un anime, prodotto dalla Tokyo Movie Shinsha e trasmesso sulla TV Tokyo dal 7 ottobre 2006 al 29 settembre 2007.

La storia parla di Kenichi Shirahama, di 15 anni, la cui vita viene capovolta dall'arrivo nella sua scuola della semplice ma bella e forte studentessa Miu Furinji. Dopo che Kenichi prova le qualità di Miu nelle arti marziali, decide di unirsi al dojo Ryozanpaku , un posto per sole persone veramente dotate, che si scopre poi essere anche la casa di Miu. Dopo aver poi battuto uno studente in un incontro, Kenichi viene preso di mira da tutti i delinquenti della scuola. Da allora, la vita di Kenichi si divide tra gli allenamenti con i sei maestri del Ryozanpaku, e gli scontri contro i membri del Ragnarok, un gruppo che vede Kenichi come un possibile alleato, ma anche come un pericolo ai loro piani.

Conosce i suoi inizi professionali col manga la porta "del Valhalla" in un'edizione speciale della celebre rivista Sunday. Conosce infine il successo con la serie "All'attacco Ryôzampaku! L'invincibile discepolo" pubblicata nella rivista Sunday Spécial. Questo titolo ebbe tanto successo che fu interrotto, per portarlo sulla rivista ammiraglia sotto il titolo "Shijo saikyo no deshi Kenichi" che è pubblicato attualmente su Shônen Sunday.

Shirahama Kenichi: protagonista dell’anime, inizialmente debole e indifeso non riesce a difendersi da bulli e ha un solo (pessimo) amico.Tutto l’anime ruota intorno alla sua crescita sia come guerriero sia come persona. Benché l’anime sia comico e in alcuni punti sfiori il demenziale Kenichi, esattamente come tutti gli altri personaggi principali, è caratterizzato molto bene e la sua psicologia è profonda e realistica.


Furinji Miu: Nipote dell’anziano del dojo è una grande combattente, ma molto ingenua, in quanto ha pochissime esperienze di vita reale poiché ha passato tutta la sua infanzia ad allenarsi con il nonno.


Furinji Hayato:Grande esperto di arti marziali, anziano del dojo e nonno di Miu. Non prende nulla sul serio e spesso si diverte a prendere in giro Kenichi. Anche s edentro di sé riconosce in Kenichi se stesso da giovane, anche se a sua detta lui non ha mai perso una battaglia….


Ma Kensei: esperto delle arti marziali cinesi è forse l’unico maestro che dimostra affetto nei confronti di Kenichi, inoltre è il classico stereotipo del vecchio pervertito che tenta sempre di scattare foto “particolari” a Miu e Shigure.


Sakaki Shio: Alcolista esperto di Karate in prima istanza non vuole avere discepoli, ma poi si affezionaa a Kenichi e lo aiuta moltissimo nell’allenamento.


Shigure Kohsaka:Esperta ninja, sa usare qualsiasi arma e riesce a trasformare qualsiasi oggetto in un’arma. La presenza di Kenichi modifica molto la sua personalità “donadole” delle emozioni che prima non aveva mai provato.


Kouetsuji Akisame: un filosofo, scultore, pittore, cantante, medico,….Un genio in tutti i campi. Sempre impassibile è il primo che si “occuperà” di Kenichi. E si occupa di scolpire il suo corpo, anche se è il meno muscoloso paradossalmente è il più forte di tutti in quanto ha sviluppato i suoi muscoli in maniera molto particolare….


Apachai Hopachai: Con la stessa mente di un bambino Apachai è totalmente incapace di contenersi… Anche lui molto ingenuo poiché ha iniziato a combattere a 3 anni e non ha mai smesso. Legerà molto con la sorellina di Kenichi:Onoka. Ha grandissime capacità di relazione coi bambini, con cui riesce a rapportarsi immediatamente essendo in fondo anche lui un bambino.

Inoltre vi sono numerosissimi altri personaggi tra cui gli Otto Pugni: i capi della banda Ragnarok, sono tutti ben caratterizzati e interessanti, ma qui li elencherò solamente, magari in futuro ne parlerò più in Other informationso…
