A new play by Ian Curteis is always an exciting prospect, and this breathless man-on-the-run thriller doesn't disappoint. The man in question is Charles II, fleeing bloodthirsty Parliamentarian forces after his defeat at the Battle of Worcester, two years after his fatherwas executed. Simon Woods subtly captures the shifts in Charles's personality as he dashes across hostile territory, hoping to reach safety in France, and Chris Larkin lords it up as the prince's pompous friend, Wilmot.
