Simply run our PortTrigger application on the computer that you want to have ports forwarded to, and like magic your application starts working. No more logging in to your router every time you switch applications just because your router doesn't have enough port forwarding capacity.
Increased Security
A forwarded port is a security hole. When you forward ports on your router, they are open all the time. However, when you trigger ports on your router, they are only open as long as the PortTrigger application is telling them to stay open. When you are done using your program, the ports close and your security is increased.
No need to set up a Static IP
Forwarding ports with PortTrigger is easy to setup, because you do not need to give every computer on your network a static IP address. You can continue using your router the way it is, without a major change to your network. When you run PortTrigger on your computer, your router knows immediately which computer you want to forward ports to.

Using conventional port forwarding, you must log in to your router every time you want to run an application on a different computer. With PortTrigger, you can set up your router just once, and every time you want to switch computers your router will respond automatically. When you want to run an application that requires a port to be forwarded, with PFConfig all you have to do is select that application from the list and choose "Forward this App". If you want to forward different apps to different computers, you simply put the other computers address in and we take care of the rest.

When you use PFConfig, our advanced optimization routines will actually combine multiple applications into less entries in your router. You can frequently forward more applications than your router would otherwise support.
