Shirotsugh Lhadatt is an unmotivated young man who has drifted into his
nation's lackadaisical space program which is largely viewed as a joke
as well as a waste of precious money and resources. After the death of a
fellow astronaut, he nurtures a close acquaintance with a young religious
woman named Riquinni Nonderaiko, whose loyalty to her faith has seen her
through many of the problems in her life. Seeing Lhadatt as a prime example
of what mankind is capable of doing and the godliness and ground-breaking
nature of space exploration, she motivates Lhadatt, who is then inspired to
become the first man in space. Lhadatt and his fellow cadets plus a team of
aging scientists rush to complete their epic launch before the military uses
their space program as bait to start an all-out war with an enemy nation.

Presented here is a MP4 file. This was re-encoded from a previous release by
a group called THORA. Problem is they screwed up royally although in their
defense I believe their rip came at a time when no one was really sure of the
best way of doing such a rip. What I did was to take their rip and re-encode it
to DXVA specifications so any DXVA capable device will be able to play this
(such as the PS3 or XboX 360 or the Popcorn Hour devices etc.) however this does
mean that I had to downsample the original 5.1 640kbps AC-3 audio file to a
standard 2 channel Stereo (although Dolby Pro Logic II Surround Sound capable)
file. For those with a PS3 I have included the 5.1 640kbps AC-3 audio file. If
you have the know how (using YAMB and tsMuxeR) you can demux or extract the
H.264 video from the MP4 and remux it with the AC-3 audio file to create a M2TS
file thus giving you 5.1 AC-3 on a PS3 or any other M2TS supporting device.

The video and audio were re-encoded using XVID4PSP using the "MP4 PS3/XBOX 360"
profile and although I used the "x264 Q18 Ultra" setting I actually changed the
Quantizer to 19 instead of 18. This resulted in a MP4 with a file size of about
3.35GB but if you remux the H.264 video with the 5.1 AC-3 audio file then you
get a file size of about 3.98GB so either way you are under the "dreaded" 4.0GB
barrier of FAT32 thus allowing you to use an external HDD. Please note that the
original release by THORA had an "oddball" resolution of 1280x736. Not sure what
kind of cropping/resizing they did in order to get that resolution. I considered
3 different ways of making it 1280x720 but in the end I simply cut 8 pixels from
the top and 8 pixels from the bottom to get from 736 to 720 and this was the
best way to go about it in terms of quality as no resizing had to be done and
you are NOT going to miss 8 pixels of information. Yes I did consider resizing
it from 1280x736 to 1252x720 with no cropping but then there would be 14 black
pixels on either side (to make it a width of 1280 in total) plus a resize which
would have hurt the quality a bit. So I think my solution was best. Maybe one
day in the future once I have my own Blu-Ray drive on my computer I'll do a
proper straight BDRip in 1080p although I wouldn't hold my breath on that as
that may take a while! For now this is as good as it gets and it is very good.
Despite being a re-encode of a 720p BDRip the quality here in terms of video and
audio is super!

[ A Big Thank You to THORA for making my torrent possible ]
