Phoenix Dynasty Online is a history-based free Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) set in the world of the Warring States period of ancient China (c. 475 B.C - 221 B.C.).

In the World of Phoenix Dynasty Online (PDO), you will take part in the time of four warring feudal states of ancient China. You will have a choice of joining one of these four warring feudal states of Chi, Chu, Qin, and Zhao and take part in their historical triumphs and downfalls.

You will experience historical events, unravel secrets of the empires, and discover wisdom of the ancients. You will participate in the legacy of history by exploring mythical areas and finding out the truth of how this world once was. There will be fierce fighting, cunning politics, and hidden foes at every turn. Will you be able to become the hero that is vital to the survival of these great states?

Interesting Five Element

Ancient Chinese believed that five elements, Metal, Water, Fire, Wood and Earth regulates all the things that from our world and cosmos, creating relations among substance known as elements today. Each element will be supportive or destructive to another element. You can simply get the concept from the following images:



In Phoenix Dynasty Online, the five elements system influences every aspect of the game: your characters, mobs, skills, item crafting, magic points, PVP etc.

Not only is a player effected by the major/minor element chosen as a skill set but also what elements the players has equipped. One player secret is to adjust your equipment to assist in fighting certain elements.

Take PVP for instance, a water player will find a duel against players of Fire attribute at same level an easy task because Water is destructive to Fire; but a water player needs to stay away from earth players as much as possible because Earth is destructive to Water.

As you can see, if you wisely utilize the Five Element strategy in game, you will soon outfight deadly monsters; outwit cunning PVP enemies and find great advantages when exploring the game! You don’t need to worry about the balance of the PVP in game, because there is no such thing as "Most Powerful Element" or "Best Element" but the "Most Skilled player"!

PVP and Four States War

PVP is always the most challenging and funniest aspect in current MMORPGs. As we have mentioned before that you need to use Five Element strategy to have advantages in PVP,let’s now take a look at a larger scale of the PVP in game: Bayer Wars. Bayer Wars are the Guild/States Wars since in that time period, war took place on a battlefield called Bayer.

Introduce the Bayer Battlefield! Here Guild War breaks out over the weekends (from Friday to Sunday in three separate battles).Every guild of the four states goes to war with a passionate belief: they can dominate this continent! In the three days’ duration, heroes of different guilds will pit against each other for the dominance over nine cities and prove which the strongest guild is!

The winner guild will be honored as "Castellan Guild", whose members will enjoy substantial benefits, including levying taxes, buying an exclusive mount - battle elephant, and enhanced character attributes. Most particularly, the fame of Bayer Master that sends chill to the spines of their fallen rivals.

Who will succeed? Who will fail? Who will be the next Castellan Guild?!

Here in Phoenix Dynasty Online, the best equipment you can obtain are not from the drops of mobs, bosses, or purchases from NPC.

You can only get the most powerful equipment from crafting, refining and strengthening. You can learn a crafting skill among blacksmithing, leatherworking, jewel crafting and armor crafting. You can collect different materials from mobs. Then according to the Five Elements theory you can start to make your own shining equipment. Horrific and Deadly Dungeons

What is a game without quests to test the ability of you and your friends for prizes and rewards? The Dungeon System in the game will let you or your raiding group of friends (up to nine) fight through trails in an instance of the Dungeon. With considerably increased difficulty, it is more perilous than the non-instance Dungeon and in return rewards are more profitable and loots more desirable. It should be noted that a dungeon is a special area that generates a new instance of the dungeon map for each group that enters the area. So no two groups will compete with each other or have to worry about kill stealing the same monster in an instance dungeon.
