Exit -- originally released in 2006 for the PSP and on Xbox Live Arcade -- now finds its way to the DS. Exit DS is a stylized side-scrolling action-puzzler that works great in the context of a handheld system, as each level's usually only a few minutes long -- perfect for picking up and playing on the go.
You control Mr. Esc, a quasi-superhero who takes it upon himself to rescue folks from disaster-stricken buildings; gameplay alternates between controlling Mr. Esc and using freed civilians to help clear the level. Once Mr. Esc rescues an individual, they join your group and become controllable -- with special abilities (crawl through narrow spaces, push heavy objects, etc.) that aid in the completion of scenarios. This combination of a controllable party, platforming, and strategy gives Exit DS a novel feel that could draw in players who aren't usually interested in puzzlers.
