Hi everyone! If your DVd player is capable of playing an NTSC formatted DVD and displaying it on your TV, this DVD is for you! It also plays on any computer with freely available "all region" player software downloadable on the Internet free of cost equally too.

"The sound of music" speaks singularly to the abusive stance taken by the industry that cares not one bit for our children. A cruelly criminally deranged price of thirty bucks is still being demanded of kids half a century after raking n the bucks for this movie at this pace that has never stopped! It seems to me that an industry that can often afford to throw a way a movie simply based on changing tastes in the executive boardroom in Hollywood (they simply decide when they don't like a movie as much anymore and "throw it into the trashcan, depriving those that would even pay for it, any dvd access at all - I am referring to movies that had great successes in their time - like "Last days of disco" and "White mischief") could just as easily stop playing the game as Microsoft does and simply say to the kids that this movie is for everyone and that enough had been paid for it collectively that it would be unconscionable to charge for it any further, let alone price gouge as they are (you'd think they were selling a barrel of oil to our folks, for crissakes). In Toronto Canada alone, some 500 families at a time wait to borrow a copy of this movie from the library system, for their kids to learn from and be edified by, let alone more rightly entertained. That's a shameful situation for a country that spends billions on foreign aid instead of rather dubious integrity and return to the good folks that pay taxes here. These hollywood merchants simply seem to lack any connection to our values similarly it would appear.

You will find much of the "video bitrate" data content on a regular DVD to be way beyond regular home needs. You may appreciate it if you want to show your DVD at a drive-in movie instead, perhaps. For home use, we have applied a more efficient formula that retains all the English audio bitrate content at full surround sound, while eliminating non-English audio, and using a reasonable video birate. The result is a torrent a small fraction of the size, with no compromise on quality I suggest, at all! We have a number of such DVDs at such economies in bandwidth, yet with no loss of functional quality for most any needs altogether!

You will need to use freely available DVD burner software (nero is often free with dvd "burner" drives for your computer at $28 or so - you'd have the ability to create as many dvds as you like onto 28cent blank discs, with such a dvd drive in your computer). This DVD (40 anniversary special widescreen presentation) even has "karaoke like" subtitles to sing along to the songs.

English, French and Spanish subtitles were all retained while supplementary material was eliminated such as interviews etc. this makes the torrent small enough to reach every child in Europe! Why not a million this very week! Nothing would warm my heart more as the fondest fan of Julie Andrews as a teacher to our children in place of what is now going on instead.
