Plot

Trama

Ritratto ben riuscito di un allenatore statunitense costante, fiducioso e tenace (un po’ come tutti gli allenatori del mondo, insomma) che qui ha il viso e i piccoli occhi di Kurt Russell, ma disgraziatamente è la solita solfa che si ritrova in ogni pellicola sportiva che si rispetti, da Momenti di Gloria a Stick It. Riscatto, voglia di vincere, grinta, retorica, morale, implicazioni politico-ideologiche: c’è tutto quello che ci dovrebbe essere, non manca niente. Ha dignità, ma non procura palpitazioni al miocardio, né fa aumentare il flusso dell’adrenalina nel sangue, e l’accentuato patriottismo Made in Usa rende la pellicola pruriginosa. Eppure, se bisogna dare a Cesare quel che è di Cesare, è ammirabile la cura dei particolari e dei dettagli nella scenografia e nella vita di Brooks, largamente documentati. Quarto film del regista Gavin O'Connor, sconosciuto qui in Italia. Si strappa un sorriso per la brava Patricia Clarkson, che qui interpreta Patty, la moglie di Herb Brooks, ma anche per Eddie Cahill che interpreta un convincente giocatore di hockey.
