Casablanca is one of the greatest movies ever made. it is a tale of chivalry. the ability of a man to sacrifice what might have been his own happiness potentially, for the happiness of the woman he loves, together with the man she prefers to be with in actuality.

A lovely movie that should be in every library, we therefore have done our best with it, it has the full DVD resolution plus 800K video and 192K audio for brilliant quality all around.

We had only just received this DVD from Columbia House in a special two disc Collectors "special edition" version as the supplementary disc has promotional footage of other Bogart movies, in a program hosted by Ms. Lauren Bacall

The lovely song "As time goes by" is therefore best heard with this offering here today as we have best audio converted for you, all things considered in the age of this movie.

We have donated this DVD to the local library this week in addition to several other titles we have just received from Columbia House including "The remains of the day", "The red violin" and Crossing Delancey among others earlier. We will have Crossing Delancey and "being Julia" for you later this week in addition to an ipod version of "The Godfather I" and the dual Spanish/English and Portuguese/English versions of our "pan and scan enhanced" "Remains of the day" offerings to the world.

French and English subtitles found on the disc are embedded for you in this DivX file. Please pick up the (older) DivX 6.0 player version, freely on the net, for best results as it is in fact quite light and great with handling embedded subtitles especially.

Dont miss "La stazione" directed by Sergio Rubini we posted last night as it is in fact quite timely for this discussion too and it features a woman of the greatest French beauty (from Italy!)
