The tapes that you find here are taken not just from John Peel shows in the 1990s but you will hear snippets of Annie Nightingale and a DJ from Radio WM's indie show, whose name I don't remember now. Radio WM is 'West Midlands', in the centre of England if you aren't from there.
The type of music is very much indie-pop and indie-rock based, with bands like Dinosaur Jr and The Wedding Present being most prevalent. The band name you see on each file name is just when there's either a session or more than 1 track by the band in it. It's not all songs by that band.
I've tried to edit the tapes as best as I can to make them sound like radio shows but sometimes I didn't record the DJ before or after the songs.
The tapes are generally recorded close to 30 minutes long so you can pick out songs more quickly and easily.
The bitrate is 96kbps as the quality from the cassettes can never be great anyway so I've used a level that is still good enough without making the file sizes too big.

If you've downloaded all the tapes, please leave them seeding on yout torrent program at least until you've uploaded as much as the total folder size. I'm sure you find it annoying when you can't get all of a folder due to lack of seeds. Sharing makes the world a better place. (Tell that to the RIAA!)
