The band first went by the name Dredlox (1982-83), then Dogz (1983-84) before settling on Flotsam and Jetsam.

Also released a cover of Metallica's "Damage, Inc." on the tribute album Metallic Attack in 2005.

The band also was featured on the Speed Metal Hell compilation album in 1986 with "Hammerhead."

Side Note : "Flotsam and Jetsam" is slang used by sailors, to describe goods thrown overboard, or washed overboard by waves.
