Bio: After searching the entire Atlanta, Georgia (USA) area for open-minded musicians and bouncing from hardcore, emo, punk, and metal bands, Champer (Mindfed, Sativa, and several other projects) packed up his gear and called it quits. Then, in October 2008, Champer came across Brokenkites online and thought it would be interesting to lay some vocals over some of the tracks. After a few conversations with Eightysix (Brokenkites, Starfirefive), he immediately realized that this was something worth pursuing. Champer completed his vocal track for "Into The Lights" in just a few hours, sending it back to Eightysix that same day. Immediately after that, they began to work on other tracks.
"We just kept writing and recording; Eightysix would send the instrumental tracks to me by email and I would work on them and just send them right back," says Champer. "We would knock out track after track - and the funniest part was that we never met in person until our first six tracks were completely done. That's pretty much how we came up with the name Distance Delay."
Distance Delay is currently continuing work on their first full-length album, titled "The Hollow Men Archives", and hope to have it completed by early 2009.
"We are writing, recording, and mixing our own tracks. This is the first time ever that I have been so immersed in a project. Every track on the album has a part of me in it," says Champer. Check out the tracks and experience Distance Delay now, and keep your eyes on them, because there's much more to come.
