Tin Men is one of my favorite movies of all time. Starring Richard Dreyfuss and Danny Devito in an unforgettable combination along with Barbara Hershey. Thats certainly an all star cast. There is an Xvid version of this movie available on the torrent system as I write this passage, however it would do this movie no justice to leave it that way as we are happy to provide you DivX instead (created by DivX.com converter with excellent results indeed), not to mention that the Xvid version is a miserly 544 X 288 in size while this movie is the full 640 X 480, an ample widescreen format. The sound on the Xvid version is a close 122K while our DivX offering comes in at a slightly better 128K. Despite all these added benefits, our Divx version is only slightly larger in this case, in fact the difference in size is quite negligible given the efficiency of DivX by comparison here.

While I was in high school I was able to bring in as much as $1500 in a single month selling a vaccum cleaner part time ("Filter Queen" as it was called - nothing better ever has been made in y view even to this day!). I was always a star in sales, becoming the youngest store manager in the Radio shack chain at the age of just eighteen, simply because folks thought among other things that pople bought a lot from me since i had a clear sense of caring for those whose needs i wanted to see met in a fair honest and reasonable manner for all involved. I'm French hearted you see, along with being very industrious in my Italian based heritage.

Because of this background, this movie has much personal meaning for me, in that it brings back many memories of being around types of folks who were competitors or in rare cases co-salesman who were in fact of an predatory mindset, with nothing but the idea that scam would always work better than a straight shoot since it was to these folks a raison detre and that had some sort of a payoff, a reward of its own, intelligible as such only to their own sort of thinking.

This is a great comedy too, one of the best in fact! It halso has a bit of a somewhat truly romantic angle in what turns out to be a great match after al1.

This is a great look at American culture. The sense of all being pitted against everyone else with no regard really to a sense of community except to those that are your own by some mutually beneficial connection such as teammates at work and what have you. It also looks keenly at the sort of values that are being portrayed that certainly are prevalent in many sales sorts of sub cultural settings and in too much thinking elsewhere in the economy that sees little regard for a true sense of community linked by a greater calling a higher standard of care and reason for being, as it were. In this sense what you see in the way of a spirit of comradeship has to be critically examined for what substance is yielded at the end of the day when the chips are in fact down, and all during the action, in fact.

Its sad when folks see others as nothing morethan a means to an end and can even go so far as to break a heart or two along theway as a matter of "par for the course" sort of philosophical thinking of this genre. On the other hand, we are given a real nice bit of comedic relief along the way, so no one is really complaining. The movie is quite entertaining and hilarious in spots and has some nice music thrown in by the British band "Fine young canibals". Fitting for this movie and you may recall their nice hit single "she drives me crazy".

I wouldn't miss this movie if you're into being a social critic of any sort, or have an interest in the sort of culture it isthat we are pervaded with a in country with a powerhouse economy but in which many exist in a meaningless way by comparison to the roots theyve left behind.
