Synopis:

Burt Lancaster plays a pirate with a taste for intrigue and acrobatics who involves himself in the goings on of a revolution in the Caribbean in the late 1700s. A light hearted adventure involving prison breaks, an oddball Scientist, sailing ships, naval fights, and tons of swordplay.

O Capitão Waldo (Burt Lancaster) é um temido pirata que aterroriza o Caribe no século XVIII. Ao saquear o navio El Libre, apodera-se de um grande arsenal de armas e munições. Ao tentar negociar um resgate para tão grande poder de destruição, acaba preso na Ilha de Cobra, mas consegue fugir e liderar seus comandados numa grande revolta, não sem antes apaixonar-se pela filha do Barão José Gruda Consuelo. Brilhante atuação de Lancaster, mostrando toda sua agilidade nas acrobacias do filme, pois atuou em picadeiros de circos na juventude.
