Like any of the Preservation Hall Jazz Bands previous records, Because of You is an engaging collection of Dixieland and New Orleans jazz standards, written by the likes of Earl Hines, Louis Cottrell, and Sammy Cahn. What makes this special is the spotlight on Narvin Kimball, the groups oldest member. Kimball sings many of these songs, most of which are love songs, and his performances give the album a warm, appealing quality, even if his singing isnt technically perfect. (AllMusic)
