Synopsis and details

Sauron is planning a major attack on Minas Tirith, capital of Gondor, which makes Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and Pippin (Billy Boyd) departs for the site with the intention of helping the resistance. An army is assembled by Theoden (Bernard Hill) in Rohan, in another attempt to stop the forces of Sauron. Meanwhile Frodo (Elijah Wood), Sam (Sean Astin), and Gollum (Andy Serkins) follow their journey to Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring.
